Ministry of National Defense FC beaten for the first time
Ministry of National Defense FC’s unbeaten runs in this season have come to an end following a home defeat last night.

The last-year runners-up, Ministry of National Defense FC, have encountered their first league loss this season in the hands of Western Phnom Penh FC at Army Stadium as the visitors came back from behind twice to secure an unbelievable and famous win in Metfone Cambodian League Match-day 9.
Ministry of National Defense FC’s skipper, Reung Bunheing, opened the scoring for the home sides in the 32nd minute, but the visitors’ forward, Mattiew Osa, drew level for his sides in the 40th minute to make it 1-1 into the break. Speedy winger, Chhin Chhoeun, re-took the lead for the home sides just nine minutes into the second half before former Cambodia U-19’s midfielder, Long Phearath, who came on as a substitute scored to make it 2-2 in the 84th minute. Mahamad Latif scored the late winner for the visitors six minutes after Phearath’s equalizer to secure a famous win for Western Phnom Penh FC.
Despite a shock defeat, Ministry of National Defense FC are still second in the league table, whilst Western Phnom Penh FC climb to the sixth place, but Western Phnom Penh FC could drop to eighth if Cambodian Tiger FC and Electricite du Cambodge FC win in this evening matches.
