PKR Svay Rieng FC on fire

The 2013 champions of Cambodian League, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC, who finished the league in the fourth place last season, are having a fabulous start this season with six wins and two draws after Match-day 8.

The Svayrieng based club is now top of the league table with 20 points and two points ahead of the second place, Ministry of National Defense FC, whom they drew 0-0 last weekend.

The club coached by Sam Vandeth has recorded the most goals scoring in the league this season with 23 goals more than any other club in Cambodia’s top flight and conceded 6 goals (the same goals as Nagaworld FC), which is the second fewest goals conceding, after eight league matches.

Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC have scored in their first seven consecutive league matches and kept five clean sheets including a tough 0-0 draw with their arch rival, Ministry of National Defense FC, in an away match last weekend. They have yet to lose to any their top-4 rivals after a 2-2 draw with the defending champions, Boeung Ket FC, 1-0 win over the six-time champions of Cambodian League, Phnom Penh Crown FC, and 0-0 draw against Ministry of National Defense FC, whilst they will play another tough-4 challenger, Nagaworld FC, on 06 May 2017.

With their outstanding displays, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC are likely to finish this league season in the Top 4 and have a chance to clinch their second league title if they win the MCL play-off.
