Chan Vathanaka went close to give the home side the lead, but he failed to put the ball into the net after a low pass from left-back Chheng Meng.
Cambodia’s right-back Saret Krya, who received his full National Team debut tonight, gave away a needless free-kick, which led to Myanmar’s opener. Center-back Zaw Min Tun headed home into the top right corner, which left Sou Yaty no chance to save, from Aung Thu’s perfect free-kick to put the visitors ahead in the fifteen minute.
Aung Thu went so close to double the visitors’ advantage after his low shot through Sou Yaty’s both legs went off target after receiving a good pass fromYan Naing OO, who robbed the ball from Saret Krya.
After going one goal behind, Cambodia tried to push forward and created a few good moments, with Saret Krya’s header from the corner kick was off target before Chan Vathanaka, who broke through into Myanmar’s penalty box, hit the post.
Kyaw Ko Ko got a big chance to extend Myanmar’s lead before the half-time break, but his low shot inside Cambodia’s dangerous box went past Sou Yaty and off target.
Unmarked Prak Manyudom found an early equalizer for Cambodia just six minutes into the second half after receiving a lovely pass from Keo Sokpheng, and the midfielder finished it nicely into the bottom left corner.
Prak Monyudom got another big chance to net his second goal to take Cambodia the lead, but his low shot was an easy save by Kyaw Zin Htet before Aung Thu punished Cambodia’s defense with a calm finish from the close range to restore Myanmar’s lead in the seventy-first minute.
Chan Vathanaka’s free-kick looked dangerous, but went off target, while Tith Dina also mis-headed the ball.
Two big moments for Cambodia came in as Chan Vathanaka got a glorious chance to draw level for Cambodia for the second time, but his low shot didn’t hit the back of the net before missing his second chance with a similar situation.
Sou Yaty denied Aung Thu’s second goal from Myanmar forward’s close-range tape-in with a top-class save in the injury time before another great chance for Saret Krya to bag a late equalizer for Cambodia, but the right-back’s header was just off target in the last minute of the added time.
The final whistle was blown, and Myanmar recorded another win over Cambodia.
