Cambodia U19 3-2 Myanmar U19-AFC U19 Championship 2018 Group" G"

Three consecutive second-half goals secure a remarkable come-back win for the host Cambodia

The host Cambodia recover from a disappointing 1-0 defeat to China in the opening match of the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers to bag their first win in the second match against Myanmar in Group G.

Cambodia secured a historic win after coming from two goals down to make a remarkable 3-2 come-back victory.

It’s a great first half for Myanmar as they dominated the match and created several chances before taking a two-goal lead within a period of two minutes. Myanmar opened the scoring in the thirty-fourth minute, with Hien Htet Aung scoring from the close range into the top right corner after an awkward clearance by Chhoeung Visinu. Lwin Moe Aung doubled Myanmar’s advantage with a great strike outside Cambodia’s penalty box into the bottom right corner in the thirty-fifth minute to give his side a two-goal advantage into the break.

After going two goals behind, Cambodia tried to push forward in the second period of the match, while their opponent played more deeply. Phnom Penh Crown FC’s left winger, Sin Kakada, pulled one back for Cambodia with a free-kick that touched the ground before bouncing into the net in the fifty-ninth minute after his powerful strike close to the box was denied by the bar post. The winger again scored another stunning free-kick in the ninetieth minute to draw level for Cambodia.

It’s a night to remember for midfielder San Kimheng, who scored a winner for Cambodia in the stoppage time. Kimheng ran into Myanmar’s penalty box after seeing a dangerous low pass from his teammate before his tap-in was denied by the opponent’s goalkeeper, but the ball went nowhere far from the midfielder who headed home into the top left corner to secure a remarkable come-back win for Cambodia.
