Hao Socheat on why Oiboh Julius didn’t start in last night’s draw with the V-league side in TMCC
Boeung Ket FC’s interim head coach Hao Socheat revealed why Oiboh Julius was not included in the Blue Dragons’ starting XI in last night 4-4 away draw with Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN FC in the first leg of the 2017 Toyota Mekong Club Championship first round.
The visitors forced a draw after being led for four times in a row, with Brazilian forward Maycon Calijuri bagging a hat-trick and another goal scored by the second-half substitute Oiboh Julius.
Meanwhile, Le Duy Thanh opened the scoring before Toure Youssouf’s hat-trick for the home team, but all their hard work was denied by the visitors’ late equalizer.
Oiboh Julius, who has just re-joined with the two-time champions of Cambodia for the third time, was remained on the bench before coming off in the second half, with Coach Hao Socheat pointing out that the forward needs more training sessions with the team to adapt to his side’s playing style.
The 27-year-old came off the bench to replace midfielder Math Yamoin in the fifty-ninth minute before netting Boeung Ket FC’s third equalizer in the eighty-first minute.
Coach Hao Socheat told TheMorning via Messenger: “[Oiboh didn’t start] because he has just started training with the club, so I’m afraid he wouldn’t play well with the team.”
When asked if the Nigerian forward will start in the second leg, Coach Hao Socheat replied: “I am not sure. I need to assess his energy and his performance with the team whether he can play well as a team. However, he did well in last night’s draw, and he only needs more energy.”
Boeung Ket FC will welcome Sanna Khanh Hoa BVN FC in the second leg at the National Olympic Stadium on December 13th, 2017 to discover the first round winner, who will meet Lao Toyota FC in the semi-finals in Laos.
