Tep Longrachna gives his verdict on a come-back win over the six-time champions of Cambodian League

Tep Longrachna gives his verdict on a come-back win over the six-time champions of Cambodian League
Following a disappointing 3-2 defeat at home the week before last week, Ministry of National Defense FC secured a remarkable come-back win over the six-time champions of Cambodian League, Phnom Penh Crown FC, at home last weekend. The visitors took two goals lead just inside 30 minutes in the first half, but it’s the home team that bagged 3 points as they scored 3 times to mark a 3-2 win at the end.

Coach Tep Longrachna of Ministry of National Defense FC was not satisfied with his team’s first-half performance as they allowed their opponents to control much of the possession, but the situation improved in the second half.
Coach Tep Longrachna was quoted by armyfc.org as saying: “In the first half, we were short of ball possession, so we conceded two goals. But in the second half, we had a good preparation and improved the ball possession.”
Tep Longrachna’s sides did not give away the match despite conceding 2 goals, but tried to focus and find ways to win that tough match.
Coach Tep Longrachna was quoted by armyfc.org as saying: “Basically in football, if we lose the concentration, it means our managing is not good enough. We need to think why we conceded two goals and how we should work on to win the match.”
The head coach also explained his tactics as his sides focused much on long balls against a team with several youngsters and less physical.
“As we played against a team with very few athletic players, we needed to play long balls rather than short passes that made us difficult to score.”
Following a great come-back win, Coach Tep Longrachna’s sides are now second in the league table with equal points to the league leader, Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng FC, who have two goals ahead of them on goals difference.
